Cape Elizabeth – Pauline Beeler, 97, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2025, with her daughter by her side.
She was born in Portland on November 6, 1927, the daughter of Joseph Napoleon and Leona Robey. Pauline grew up in the Woodfords area of Portland. She and her late husband, Charles Beeler, lived for a short time on Olympia Street in Portland before settling in Cape Elizabeth, where they raised their family. Together, they shared a love of roller skating and were known professionally as The Skating Atoms, performing throughout the region.
Pauline was a talented and devoted homemaker. She was especially known for her homemade candy apples, which she sold every autumn from her home. Children would line up after school, eager to buy one of her famous treats—a cherished neighborhood tradition for many years. She was also an accomplished knitter, crafting sweaters, hats, and mittens for her family.
In her later years, Pauline moved into her daughter’s home, where she received loving 24-hour care and where she spent her final days surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Beeler. She is survived by her children, Paul C. Beeler of Scarborough, Bettejean Tinkham, Robert C. Beeler and his wife Debra of Raymond, and Robyn Carol Beeler-Nichols and her husband John J. Nichols of Westbrook; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sincerely The Wallace family
Thank you.
Thank you
My sympathies to you and your family. As a young girl, I saw your parents perform more than once. Betty Gribbon would always have them perform at the Cathedral’s St. Patrick’s Day Concert in Portland. The lights would go down and your Dad would start to spin with your Mother in her skates locked around his neck. He would slowly bend his legs and lower his body close enough to the floor for your mother to light a match held in her teeth as everyone held their breath as she lighted the match for all to see. They were one of the highlights of the show! I remember them like it was yesterday!
Thank you for sharing such beautiful memories. My parents were amazing.
