September 28, 1933 ~ December 10, 2021

Paul L. Poulin, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born on September 28, 1933, to the late Arthur A. and Blanche (Marquis) Poulin in Springvale where he grew up and attended local schools. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served from 1951-1956. He also served for a time in the National Guard. Paul then took advantage of the G.I. Bill and attended American University in Washington D.C. He was employed by the U.S. Public Health Services for 35 years and was able to travel the world. In 1975 he married the love of his life Barbara Jean Brown. Upon retiring, Paul's dream was to return to his Poulin roots and returned to Maine to live on a 20-acre farm in Parsonsfield. There, he was able to enjoy being an outdoorsman. He was a hunter, fisherman and sharpshooter. In 2018 Paul moved to Sanford for a few years and then came full circle to live in his beloved Springvale. Paul was a very engaging person. He is said to be the "unofficial mayor of every room he was in". People were just drawn to him and enjoyed talking with him and hearing his stories. In his caring way he served his community by holding fundraisers for various causes. He was a man of loyalty and integrity, was proud of his family and will be sadly missed. He is predeceased by his wife Barbara Poulin, his siblings, Arthur Poulin, Muriel Poulin, Richard Poulin, and Robert Poulin. Survivors include his niece and best friend, Judy Poulin of Portsmouth, nephews James Poulin of Florida, Robert Poulin of Mexico, and Richard Poulin of California, a grand nephew, Shawn Poulin of Colorado, and his beloved great grandniece, Mackenzie Poulin.
