Paul J. "Toot" Langlais, 71, of Springvale, died January 11 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a lengthy illness.He was born in Sanford on April 11, 1935, a son of Fernand and Laura (Vermette) Langlais. He attended local schools and Sanford High School.He served with the US Air Force as a tail gunner in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on July 26, 1956.Over the years he was employed with various local shoe shops until 1980 when he went to work for Pratt-Whitney in North Berwick, retiring in 1998.He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and by a stepson, Jerry Simpson.Survivors include his wife Patricia (Steele) Langlais of Springvale, 3 stepdaughters, Debbie Laurendeau and her husband Rodney, Diana Legere and her husband Paul, all of Springvale, Pamela Weinert and her husband Steve of Sanford, a brother, Arthur Langlais of Arkansas, a sister, Lorraine Lantagne of Shapleigh, 10 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
