Paul D. Goodwin

Paul D. Goodwin, 34, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2016 in Cornish from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Haverhill, MA, on December 4, 1981 a son of Robert L. Goodwin, Sr. and Kathleen A. (Smart) Goodwin.Paul was a very spiritual person. He loved to be outdoors enjoying nature. Throughout his journey, he felt it was his calling to be there for anyone in need. He was a kind soul with a giant heart, at times just a big and loving kid. Paul enjoyed science fiction, books, role playing games, music, his exotic pets, his large collection of miniatures, as well as his time spent with family and friends.Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa (Phelps) Goodwin of Sanford, his mother, Kathleen A. Goodwin of Springvale, his father, Robert L. Goodwin, Sr. and his wife Sharon L., of Windham, NH; brother, Robert L. Goodwin, Jr., of Arlington, MA; sister, Heather E. Peabody of Durham, NH; sister, Holly E. Goodwin of Springvale, sister, Lauren M. Goodwin of Windham, NH; brother, Daniel L. Goodwin of Hampton, NH; brother, John A. Goodwin of Windham, NH; as well as five nieces, four nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 4 to 8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Rachel Carson Wildlife Center, c/o National Wildlife Refuge Association, 1001 Connecticut Ave. NW, Suite 905, Washington, D.C. 20036.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
