Paul Flood

paul flood
On August 4, 2020 Paul Flood of Naples, Maine, lost his courageous eight-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease and Multiple Systems Atrophy. Paul grew up in Hudson, Massachusetts. He was a 1970 graduate of Hudson High School and he went on to secondary school at Wentworth Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Paul worked most of his life in the automotive industry and earned several awards as a leader in his field. He loved working on cars so much that he spent several years working on them in the evenings at his home for family and friends. Paul was very talented and he could do most anything he set his sights on. Paul loved automobile racing and spent many a Saturday and Sunday watching the races on TV. He especially loved being part of the pit crew for his brother in law Tom Jensen when he had a race car. Paul loved music, and played the bass guitar in a band in high school and the band continued playing for local events well into their fifties. He had a passion for cooking and liked to spice up every dish he made, and was known as the king of desserts amongst his friends. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, be it snowmobiling, skiing, ice fishing, hunting, boating, fresh water fishing and hiking. Paul was most disappointed that his disease took away from him the opportunity to do these things with his wife and son. Paul leaves behind his wife, Bernie of 33 years; a son, Paul Jr. of Maine; mother, Evelyn Flood of Florida; brother, David Flood and his wife Sharon of Massachusetts; sister, Judy Congero of Florida; sister, Casey Jensen and her husband Tom of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Flood of Florida. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in order to allow people to travel to Maine from out of state the family will be having a celebration of Paul's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Camp North Woods in Paul's name to allow his legacy to live on by giving an opportunity to a young future outdoorsman to learn how to do all of the things that Paul held dear to his heart. Make checks payable to: Treasurer State of Maine- Camp North Woods in memory of Paul Flood Mail the check to : Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Attn: Information and Education 284 State St., SHS 41 Augusta, ME 04333 Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland.
