Paul was my best and most consistent friend in the theater. He allowed me to spend my early days at the Alley Theatre in Cambridge during the 80s. He championed my play and staged a production in the 90s. Then we met again in New York decades later and started meeting every summer to work on his new scripts. And talk. A lot. Whether at Tara’s apartment or his favorite Starbucks or Gena’s Grill on 1st Ave or just hanging around. I even spent a weekend in Portland at the house he shared with his father so I could see a Scottish music festival in Old Beach.
This summer is not the same. I miss him.
