SCARBOROUGH Paul M.Corbeau, 84, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Born in Portland on July 9, 1932, Paul was the son of the late Pierre and Marie (Gooch)Corbeau. He attendedCheverusHigh School before transferring to Portland High School where he graduated in the Class of 1950.Following high school, Paul attended Portland Junior College. Paul married the love of his life, Marjorie Johnson, on November 23, 1957. Together, they moved to Scarborough where they raised their family. Paul was employed with S.D. Warren Paper Mill for 36 years where he worked his way up from filing papers to the Assistant Superintendent. Through his work, he received an awardfor Mill Safety and Excellence in 1978 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. He also served in several committees and organizations. Most notably, he served as the Chairman of the United Way in the 1980s. In Pauls early years, he was very active in softball and basketball. His true passion, however, was golf. Paul loved playing golf and was very proud to achieve twohole-in-ones. He was a member of the Maine State Golf Association, Gorham Country Club, andWillowdaleGolf Course where he enjoyed playing golf with his regular foursome comprised of himself, Buzzy Burrows, GrantWorthingand Bob Gardiner. He alsospentmany winters with his wife in Myrtle Beach where they enjoyed golftogetherunder Marges supervision. Above all else, Paul loved and cherished his family. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister,Louise Wade and his son-in-law, Robert Hartley. He is survived by his wife, MarjorieCorbeau; children, Paula OBrien and husband Timothy, DavidCorbeauand wife Wendy, Laurie Hartley and SusanCorbeau, all of Scarborough; brother, Pierre PeteCorbeauof Westbrook; grandchildren, LindsayOBrien-Worsterand her husband Brian, KelseyOBrien and her companion TrevorGerrity, MackenzieOBrien, MatthewCorbeauand his wife Beth, MichaelCorbeau,and AdamHartley and his wife Meghan; great-grandson, Jackson PaulCorbeau. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In recognition of the compassionate care Paul received during his illness, his family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edward Greco, Jr., Dr. Paul Sweeney and the entire staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 22,from 5-8PM at theConroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway,SouthPortland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November23,at 9:15AM followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough.
