Paul A. Clark

November 18, 1937 ~ January 23, 2026

Born in: Springvale, Maine
Resided in: Orange Park, Florida

Paul Arthur Clark (88), born November 18, 1937, in Springvale, Maine, passed away peacefully
on January 23, 2026, at his home of 51 years in Orange Park, Florida, surrounded by family.

Raised in Lebanon, Maine, Paul’s early years shaped the values of hard work, loyalty, and
devotion to family that guided him throughout his life. He was the eldest of five children born to
Mabel and Walter Clark Jr., and the only brother to four sisters—twins Jean and June, and
Mabel and Suzanne. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Joy B. Clark;
and his sisters Jean and Mabel. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Scott (Judy) of
Florida, Cynthia of Missouri, Kimberly of Maryland, and Rodney (Michele) of New York; his
surviving sisters, June and Suzanne; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Paul married his love, Joy, on January 3, 1959, at Shapleigh Baptist Church in Shapleigh, Maine,
sharing 66 years of marriage rooted in love, commitment, and family. Together, they built a life
centered on their children and cherished traditions, especially summers spent in Maine at the
family home. In later years, they enjoyed summers in Maine and winters in Florida. Golfing was
a great hobby of Paul’s, which he enjoyed every weekend and shared with many friends over the
years.

Paul attended Sanford High School before answering the call to serve his country by joining the
United States Navy in 1955. He dedicated 20 years to active-duty service, with duty stations in
Rhode Island, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Meridian, Mississippi, and Jacksonville, Florida, and
deployments aboard the USS Forrestal and the USS Enterprise. As a metalsmith and aircraft
mechanic, Paul was known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic. He earned multiple
awards and promotions and retired as a Chief Petty Officer (E-7) and Aviation Structural

Mechanic (AMSC) — eventually retiring “to play golf year-round” because of the warm Florida
weather, which he did!

Following his military service, Paul continued to serve the Navy for an additional 20 years in
civil service through NADEP at Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS JAX). In total, Paul
devoted 40 years of service to his country, a legacy of dedication and pride that defined much of
his life.

Those who knew Paul will remember him for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love
for his family. He lived with integrity, valued loyalty, and found joy in the simple moments spent
with the people he loved most.

Paul lived a life of service, commitment, and devotion to family. His legacy will live on through
the many generations he helped shape and the memories that will be cherished always.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Services for Paul will be held in spring at time to be announced.
