Westbrook Patricia Pat E. Sargent, 77, of Westbrook passed away July 29, 2016, at The Gosnell House Hospice in Scarborough after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Portland on January 31, 1939, a daughter of George and Eleanor (Mulloy) LaRou. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. From a young age, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she always answered, I want to be a mother. In 1960, she married Russell Sargent and went on to have five children. She worked in the mortgage department of Peoples Bank and then TD Bank until retirement. She loved to spend time knitting and reading. She was a great lover of cats and her dog Abby, who she enjoyed walking with her friends Jeanne and Bonnie. She loved spending time with her family and relished being a grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her sister Judy Fontaine; sons, Ron Sargent, Rick Sargent, and Dennis Sargent; daughters, Cindy Putnam and Sandy Sargent; daughters-in-law Ellen Sargent and Lisa Sargent; as well as granddaughters Amanda Paradis, Audrey Putnam, Sarah Putnam, Madi Sargent, Amy Sargent and Emily Sargent, grandsons Alex Sargent and Dylan Anderson, and great granddaughter Winter Putnam. Pat is predeceased by her parents and husband. Services will be private. Those wishing to contact the family may do so at Legndzofthewolf@gmail.com.   1. Sincere and deepest sympathy to all of you. Pat was a dear sweet person , and I know she will be surely missed. Roland Gagne saw the obit in the paper and emailed me. What a shock am very glad that she didn’t suffer long. My Dad’s cancer returned after 29 yrs, took care of him 6 months in So Portland and then Ally & I brought him back to Florida where he passed after 3 yrs. Dad told me the mobile park where he thought Mom and Dad were at — came by left a note and phone number but never heard. Haven’t been back since… love & deepest sympathy, Dotti, Drew, Ally

Though I had not seen your mom for many years, I still remember all the good times we had following all of you through school activities and outside of school.
