Patricia A. Langlais
Patricia A. Langlais, 86, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, March 26th at the Newton Center in Sanford.Patricia was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on July 23, 1932 to Robert and Dorothy (Harris) Steele. When she was young, her family moved to Saco where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Thornton Academy in 1950. During her working life she was employed as a seamstress in the local shoe shops.Patricia enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and playing Yahtzee. She loved spending time with her family and would light up when any of them would visit, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Paul Langlais, her son, Jerry Charles Simpson and two brothers, Robert and Richard Steele.Surviving are three children, Deborah Simpson Laurendeau and her husband Rodney of Springvale, Pamela Simpson Weinert and her husband Steven of Sanford and Diana Simpson Legere and her husband Paul of Springvale; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sharon Steele of Harpswell, Maine and several nieces and nephews.Patricia's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Newton Center for the care and compassion shown during her period of declining health.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 29th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 30th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Newton Center Activities Fund, 35 July Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.
