Patricia E. Baylor
Patricia E. (Winslow) Baylor, 71, of Sanford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Sanford, the daughter of the late Irving and Veronica Winslow. She grew up in Sanford, attending local area schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1959. She married Richard B. Baylor of York, Pennsylvania on February 10, 1967. After graduation Patricia worked AT&T as a telephone operator in Sanford then transferred to Portland where she lived for many years. She continued her employment in Portsmouth, NH after her husband was stationed at Pease Air Force Base. Upon returning to Sanford she had several jobs until deciding to become a housewife and stay at home mom, supporting her husband in his military career while raising their daughter. Patricia was a devoted wife and supported her husband Richard's long career in the U.S. Air Force and his volunteering and community service to the veterans of Maine. She was a caring, loving mother to her daughter. Many of her daughter's friends were adopted in her heart. She was called 'mom' by many. She loved her animals and taking care of her pets. Growing up she loved riding on her horse, Corvette. She had a passion for literature, opera, old movies and history. She took great pride in that the Winslow family were direct descendants of the Mayflower. She was a kind and caring woman who lived for her family. They were her pride and joy, supporting them in whatever they did. She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Baylor II, and her daughter, Jennifer Baylor of Sanford. She is also survived by her aunt Fedora Lozowski of Sanford, her brother and sister in law, Robert and Eileen Baylor of York, Pennsylvania, a niece, nephew, and several cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a service to be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 10:00 am at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. Interment will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
