Born November 17, 1944, in the original Goodall Hospital; died at home in Sanford on August 2, 2018.Pam graduated from Sanford High School in 1963, and after attending Mary Hitchcock-Dartmouth, she became a Registered Nurse (RN). She married and had two daughters while continuing to work as an RN. Upon her return to Sanford in 1976, following a divorce, she worked as the school nurse at Sanford High School and then joined the staff at Goodall Hospital in 1982. She initially worked on the Marland II Unit but spent many of her years in SCU/Special Care Unit.During this time, she received a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison College. In her 50s, she went back to school at The University of Southern Maine, Gorham, to receive a Masters of Science in Adult Education. Following this, she eventually left Goodall SCU to become the director of the then-new Pavilion Dementia Residential Care next door. She spent a number of years there and left to become the director of the then-new Dementia Residential Care at the Scarborough Veterans Home. When her advancing Glaucoma became too severe, she retired from Scarborough Veterans Home. When her eyesight was better, she was a knitter, a crafter, and an avid reader. She was a diehard fan of Stephen King. She was always interested in learning, and in her 50s even spent a week at the Adult Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama; a highly challenging program. She is survived by her two daughters, Kim and Kerry, her son-in-law, Greg, her grandsons, Jeffery and Ryan, and her brother, Bruce, and his family. She was cremated simply, without a funeral or memorial service, as was her wish. Also per her wishes, she will have a Green Burial in the fall in a Cedar Grove in Maine. Please, no flowers.
