Naomi H. Tomney

CAPE ELIZABETH, MAINE/CLINTON, MASS. - Naomi H. Tomney, 76, died Thursday Nov. 15, 2012 in Voorhees, NJ surrounded by her family. She was born in Boston, Mass. a daughter of Louis and Marjorie (Harper) Shaffer. She was a graduate of Malden High School, Colby Junior College, and Simmons College. She was a municipal agent for the Town of Cape Elizabeth for 15 years where she loved her job and the people of Cape. She was an avid reader and member of the Book Club of Cape Elizabeth and Woodlands Book Club of Clinton, MA. She was also a member of the Danvers Garden Club. Naomi will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband James F. Tomney in 2007, and her sister Natalie DeAngelis in 1987. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Hutner and her husband Gary of Clinton, Mass., and Laura Westcott and her husband William of Mt. Laurel, NJ; sons, Christopher Tomney and his wife Allison of Fairfax, Va, and Brian Tomney of Reston, Va; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mathew, Stephanie, Lindsay, Stefan, Benjamin, Ashley, Katie, Zack, and Michael; great grandchildren, Madison and Liliana; and step - grandchildren Andrew and Claire. Calling hours will be held 7:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 and 11a.m. - 12p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, at Conroy - Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday November 24, at the Chapel. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth.
