Monica Grzyb

November 20, 1960 ~ November 23, 2025

Portland – It is with much sadness that we announce the death of our sister Monica Grzyb of Portland ME on November 23, 2025. We wish her peace after a long illness.

Throughout her life Monica enjoyed walks along the seashore and dabbling with craft projects. She had many friends and a laughter that was contagious. Her smile could win anyone’s heart.

She is survived by her sisters, Valerie Stefanski of Falmouth, ME, Janice Grzyb of NYC and her brother, Stanley Grzyb of Washington DC.

Services will be private. A celebration of her life is planned for early 2026. For further inquiries please go to monicaspassing@gmail.com

  1. Monica and I became fast friends at PHS and remained in touch over the years. She was the sweetest and will be so very missed.

  4. I first met Monica at Dunkin Donuts on St John Street. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed working together. Stanley would come in after school, sit at the counter closest to the cash register, and do his homework. Later years, I would think of her as I drove by her home in Falmouth on my way to/from work. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.

  5. My sympathies. Wonderful memories of my cousins..Monica,Janice,Valerie and stanley..much love and appreciation .Monica babysat me as a kid and over the years many happy memories. As an adult I would see her occasionally and reminisce. To me it was always a joyful experience. So sorry for your loss and God bless the family…Bobby Harriman

  6. I became close w Monica when we worked together at Anthem. We laughed constantly and would get shushed and then would laugh even harder. She was so much fun. After her life at Anthem keeping in touch was sporadic but I always thought of her. You will be missed my friend. 🧡
