Miriam A. Goodrich

Miriam A. Goodrich, 96, of Alfred died on Monday, February 19, 2007 at Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Goodrich was born in Alfred on March 17, 1910 to Lindsay and Eltina Ridley and attended local schools. She was employed by Allied Novelty Shoe Shop in Springvale where she worked as a shoe repairer. She married her husband, Elmer when she was a young woman and together they raised 10 children. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her family and tending to her home. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Miriam will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed by all he friends and family. Miriam was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Goodrich and a daughter, Norma Geller.Surviving are 6 sons, Elmer Goodrich, Jr. of St. Pete, FL, Blaine Goodrich of Alfred, Kenneth Goodrich of North Berwick, Edward Goodrich of Pontiac, MI, Lindsay Goodrich of Port Richey, FL and Joel Goodrich of Alfred; 3 daughters, Barbara Webster of Port Richey, FL, Karen Curtis of Springvale and Judy Mauzerolle of Springvale; many grand children, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Waban Projects, Inc. 5 Dunaway Drive, Sanford, Maine 04073.
