Millicent W. Dockendorff, 97 of Port Orange, Florida, formally from Limerick, Maine, went peacefully to be with our Lord in Heaven on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her residence in Florida.Millicent was born in Gardiner, Maine on December 2, 1915, the daughter of Arthur and Jennie (Pottle) Wakefield. She attended Bates College after which she worked in the lab at Augusta General Hospital, Augusta, Maine. She married Kenneth W. Dockendorff and worked beside him in the funeral business for over 30 years. She also cared for elderly boarders in her home while at the same time taking wonderful care of her family. Millicent liked doing crochet, knitting and handiwork. She was a member of the Rebecca's and belonged to the Free Baptist Church in Limerick, Maine, the Hilltop Baptist Church in Parsonsfield, Maine and Cross Roads Baptist Church in Florida. She was an accomplished pianist and played in the churches. She also played the violin. After her husband died, Millicent traveled with her daughter Deborah and family to Florida and beyond for 11 years. In 2005 she went to live with her daughter Jacqueline and family where she resided until her death. In May of 2011 she attended Cross Roads Bible Institute in South Daytona, Florida and graduated with honors at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth, a baby Geraldine (twin), a son Merle at age 12 and a grandson Robert Harry Thorne at 10 months. She is survived by a son Terry Dockendorff of Zephyrhills, FL., a daughter Gail King and her husband Robert of Whitefield, ME., a daughter Jacqueline Provencher and her husband Leo of Port Orange, FL., and a daughter Deborah Friesen and husband Lynell of Anchorage, AL.; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and 3 cousins. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home Located at 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 21st at the Hilltop Baptist Church located at 1890 North Road, Cornish Road. Interment will be in the spring at the Highland Cemetery in Limerick, Maine.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to Hilltop Baptist Church, 1890 North Road, Cornish, ME 04020 or Cross Roads Bible Institute, 1851 S.
