Mildred M. Stebbins

Portland - Mildred "Millie" Margaret Stebbins, 85, died on Monday, June 1, 2020, at Maine Medical Center. Millie was born in Portsmouth, NH, on August 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Annette (Snow) Quinn. She spent a few years in Portsmouth before moving to Portland. She attended local Portland schools and then entered the workforce.
Millie was a hard worker. She worked many jobs including working at the fish factory on the waterfront, in the environmental services department at Maine Medical Center, and in custodial work at Portland High School. What was most important to Millie was her family. She worked hard to provide for them as was always there to do the little things to keep a household going like laundry, babysitting and cooking.
She was predeceased by her son, Walter Ellsmore, Jr.; and a sister, Lorraine Cardona and her husband, Vincent. She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Smith, Marie Stebbins, Sonia Stebbins; three sons, Keith Ellsmore, Brian Quinn, Dale Stebbins; five grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours celebrating Millie's life will be held from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
Attendees are requested to wear a mask at all services. Per state restrictions, up to 50 people will be permitted in the building at any given time. The Funeral Home staff will rotate visitors through to make sure everyone in attendance is able to pay their respects. Social distancing practices are requested to be observed.
