Michelle L. Beaupre Matt, 57, of Sanford, beloved mother, sister and wife passed away on December 22 after a 10-year battle with breast cancer. She braved the fight with poise and courage becoming the source of strength for her children. She passed peacefully surrounded by the love and care of her family; her children Jessica, Justin, Nick, Lucas and Ethan Matt, her sister Lisa Starbard and her husband, Skip Dore. Michelle was born in Danvers MA on January 13th 1960, the daughter of George and Carolyn Beaupre. She was a dedicated mother to her five children, always looking for new unique ways to bring happiness and joy in their lives. She planned several surprise birthday and graduation parties, hosted countless sleepovers, and arranged fun vacations filled with adventures during any school vacation. She was a big time jokester and loved to play pranks on her family. From coloring the dog blue to sewing underpants together, everyone learned to prepare for April 1st. She would collect funny things anyone said or did throughout the year and share them over a family dinner. She certainly passed on her sense of humor through her wit and practical jokes. Her first joy was her children and her selfless love for them was evident and undeniable. Michelle was a highly accomplished author. She has been published in a variety of magazines including Christian Camp and Conference Journal, Family Fun, Vermont Life, and the Standard. She has also won several writing contests during the annual State of Maine Writers' Conferences. Through her occupation as a Licensed Social Worker, Michelle provided loving care to patients at the Goodall Hospital Newton Center. She also served as Goodall's Senior Advocate working diligently as the liaison between the elderly and the resources available to them. She was highly regarded and praised for her work. She was passionate about many things. She was a talented figure skater, avid gardener, enthusiastic shopper and dog lover. Every summer she could be found tending her garden with her dog, Bella, glued to her side. She loved walking in the woods and reading scripture quietly by the lake in the early morning. Despite her declining health, she never let go of her trust in God. Her faith was a light to many people. She constantly encouraged her family with prayer and modeled for her children what it meant to truly walk with God.She is predeceased by her parents and her first husband, Jeffery Matt. She is survived by her Husband Skip, her five children and her three grandchildren, Mara, Beau and Harper Matt.
