Michael W. Lancaster

Michael Wayne Lancaster, 64, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday July 5, 2018. He was born on September 26,1953 in Medford, Massachusetts, a son of the late Sidney E. Lancaster and Madeline S. Emerald.Michael was musically inclined, he taught himself to play the guitar and read music which he enjoyed immensely. He was a hard worker on any job or project he took on. He was an avid outdoors man. He loved hiking, fishing and going to the mountains rocking for minerals. He enjoyed motorcycling & landscaping. Michael leaves behind two sons, Jason W. MacKay of MA and Jeffrey M. Lancaster of NH. Michael also leaves behind 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson. He is also survived by one brother, John D. Lancaster of Texas, sisters, Sandra L. McCormack of Maine, Susan Titus of Texas, Lisa Vickers of MA.Along with his parents he is predeceased by one brother, Patrick Lancaster.He will be greatly missed and loved.A graveside service and military honors for Michael will be held on Friday July 13th at 11:00 AM at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Stanley Road, Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Condolences may be expressed by clicking the condolences tab to the left.
