Matthew F. Sipowicz

Matthew F. Sipowicz of Topsham, Maine died March 8, 2015. He was born in Buffalo, New York, a son of the late Frank and Sophia Kososki Sipowicz. He attended local schools, graduated and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean conflict. Mr. Sipowicz attended the College of William and Mary, and for most of his career was a commodity broker in New England and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1991, he retired to Maine. His wife, Rose Ochmanski Sipowicz, formerly of Augusta, died in 2013. Mr. Sipowicz was also predeceased by two brothers, Daniel of Buffalo, New York, and Eugene of Readfield, Maine. There will be no visitation. A tribute to his life will be private. Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, Maine. It saddens us greatly that Uncle Matt has passed. He was a good person and could always be counted on when you needed someone. We will miss the sports talk, going to baseball games, dinner at Espo’s and his attendance at our annual “Lobster Feed.” He deeply loved our Aunt Rose and her loss last year weighed heavily on him. As a Navy veteran he loved this country. He will be deeply missed.Stan & Susan
