Portland- Mary Lou Patten, died from complications of Alzheimers on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Fallbrook Woods Living Center. She was born in Bennington, Vermont. She left Bennington when she met the love of her life Frank Patten. Together, they lived and traveled most of their lives between Stuart, Florida and Maine. Mary Lou was accomplished in many ways. Her paintings won first prize at the Cumberland County Fair two years in a row, and she achieved a hole in one golfing in Maine and again in Florida. She lived for many years at the Breakwater at Springpoint, in South Portland where she served on the board of directors. She played the organ and sang like an angel. Mary Lou achieved and excelled at most everything she did. The family would like to express deep gratitude to the staff of Fallbrook Woods, and to Dan Boutin for the care and compassion they gave to Mary Lou. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Patten; a stepson, Bob Patten; and a brother Francis Carriere. She is survived by, and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Angie Foster of South Portland; stepdaughter, Susan Patten of CT. At her request there will be no public services.
