Born in: Boston, MA
Resided in: St. Louis Park, MN

Mary Louise Wiley passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in her sleep at Towerlight Senior Living, St. Louis Park, Minnesota on October 29, 2025.
It is with grief for her death and gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Wiley in her 91st year. Born in 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, Mary is the beloved wife of the late Harry Wiley, who predeceased her in 2015, after 34 years of marriage.
Dear mother of Marianne Milano and Paula Knapp (Bob Knapp), proud grandmother of Andrew Bacher, Alex Huffman (Chad Huffman), Simon Bacher and Brendan Canova (Jordan Canova). Very proud great-grandmother of Hadley Huffman, Hudson Huffman and Capri Canova.
Mary was a devoted wife with the biggest heart who enjoyed hosting friends and family at her home. During the years her grandchildren were young and through high school, Mary would make it a priority to travel to different states to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. She created lasting memories with each one. “Nannie” will always hold a special place in the hearts of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
In her early years, Mary worked as a model, an administrative assistant in media and in real estate and as a sales associate for the Yellow Pages organization. In Maine, she cared for others at Kaler-Vail, a retirement home for women in Scarborough. She loved the positive atmosphere and beautiful coastal setting. She cooked meals and helped with various activities for the residents.
Mary Lou, as she was known in Maine, was a long-time active member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough, ME. She volunteered at the church, often sang in the choir, was a lector, Eucharistic Minister and served others in many other ways.
She enjoyed attending musicals and sporting events that her nephews participated in at the Scarborough Schools.
Mary touched many hearts each day, in Massachusetts, Maine and Minnesota. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her spirit of love, kindness and generosity. Her selfless love and commitment to following Jesus was evident to all. She was our angel on earth.
When Mary moved to Minnesota in 2019, she eventually found her home, and she would tell you, her “second family” at Towerlight Senior Living. The family wishes to thank all the staff and residents at Towerlight and the staff at Brighton Hospice for their kind and compassionate care shown toward our sweet Mary during her stay.

Guestbook

  1. Aunt Mary Lou was a bright light and loving soul. She inspired us to join St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and move to Scarborough. It was always a joy to visit with her and Uncle Harry. We will miss her.

  2. To my dear Aunt Mary Lou, Thank you for all of your love and support and spiritual wisdom. I know you are with your Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. May you rest in peace and know how much I love you.

  3. Aunt Mary Lou was one of the kindest people, thoughtful and considerate … and fun! She had a beautiful smile and laugh that matched her beautiful voice. My father, Uncle Harry’s eldest brother, died in 1996 and Mary Lou sang “On Eagle’s Wings” – a capella, no less – at his funeral. Absolutely outstanding. When my son had knee surgery the year before, she insisted we stay overnight at her home before driving back to ours. She was one of our family we all enjoyed being with, and she will be missed. My regret is not staying in closer touch, because she was a beautiful soul.

  4. Mom we,the family that was helped by Marianne and Brendane in Uganda, we shall always miss your love.

  7. Mary Lou loved children and would often have a stuffed animal or toy for my grandchild when she was little. She was had something for you—a medal, prayer card, or small gift—as a token of her generosity. I cherish the angel she gave me.

  8. May you rest in peace. I’m so blessed I was able to meet you. You were just a beautiful lady with a beautiful family. 🙏
    Love the Ingrams.

  9. For my dear friend Paula, your mom was a beautiful light that will live on in you forever.
All my love and sympathy for you and your family. Love Joy
