Mary I. Lord

Mary I. Lord, 100, of Sanford died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mary was born in Sanford on August 22, 1906 to Roscoe and Herberta Tolman Lord. And attended local schools. Mary was a very kind and loving woman; she devoted her life to caring for those around her. When her father's health began to fail, she lovingly cared for him until the time of his death. She was a devout Christian woman. She sang in the church choir, enjoyed reading her bible and had been a member of Curtis Lake Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, tatting lace tablecloths and dress making. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.Surviving are a nephew, William Hatch of Deland, FL; 2 nieces, Mary Penney of Topsfield, ME and Sylvia Waddell of Sheraton, AR; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held at a later date at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Curtis Lake Christian Church, 38 Westview Drive, Sanford, ME 04073.
