Mary F. Levesque

Mary F. Bouffard-Levesque, 86, of Springvale passed away peacefully at the Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford on Monday April 14, 2014. Mary was born on February 22, 1928 the eldest daughter of the late James and Blanche (Driscoll) Duranceau. She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1946.Mary married John P. Bouffard and together they raised four children in Sanford and Springvale. Mary and John enjoyed many summers at their camp on Mousam Lake where aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews gathered. She and John had a large garden and Mary loved to can the abundance of veggies.Mary was employed by ATT as a telephone operator first in the Biddeford office and upon her marriage to John in the Sanford office until that office closed. She went on to spend many years raising her family. She was employed by Chase Real Estate Company, the Sanford Police Dept. and retired from the Town of Sanford as a clerk in the Town Clerk's office. Mary enjoyed writing, crochet, and cooking. She traveled to Great Britain and Ireland and up and down the East Coast. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and especially loved Christmas Eve parties at her home on Beaver Hill Road.Mary was predeceased by John in 1986 and later married J. Roger Levesque in 1989.Mary is survived by her four children, Susan Mesick and her husband, Michael of Alfred, Maine, Michael Bouffard of Hudson, NH, Caroline Chase of Nashua, NH, David and his wife, Jaye Churchill of Falmouth, ME. She is also survived by her sisters, Irene Tarbox of Kennebunk, Maine, Joan Murray of Keene, NH, and Martha Duranceau of Indianapolis, IN, six grandchildren, Jennifer Nadeau and her husband, Anthony Pierce of Harpswell, ME, Adam Nadeau and his wife, Monique Crowley of S. Lake Tahoe, CA, Heath Bouffard and his fiance Jennifer Sperdakos of Waterboro, ME, Amy Bouffard of Kennebunk, ME, Cory Chase of New Mexico and Christopher Chase of Idaho, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16th at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, Payne Street in Springvale.
