Mary Josephine, 67, of Acton and Limerick, passed away following a long time illness on Saturday August 28, 2021 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in Saugus, MA on March 15, 1953 a daughter of the late Melvin I. and Helen C. (Kerry) Hatch. She graduated from Saugus High School in 1972, and then worked for the State of Massachusetts until she moved to New Hampshire where she held jobs in manufacturing. She married her husband, the love of her life, William (Sandy) Johnson on August 17, 1974. Together they had three children. Mary and her family moved to Maine in the late 80's. She loved helping people and driving where she volunteered for York County Community Action as a driver for over 10 years, until her health declined. She is predeceased by her husband, William (Sandy) Johnson, brothers, Thomas E. Hatch, John H. Hatch and granddaughter, Adeline Johnson. Mary is survived by her life partner, Reginald Maxfield, brother, Robert F. Hatch and his wife, Sue of Wells, sisters, Ellen M. Devito and her husband, Tony of Malden, MA, Jo-Ann Venezia of Franklin, MA, daughters, Melinda E. Johnson of Sanford, Kate M. Johnson and life partner, Neil L. Pierce of Acton, son, William A. Johnson and his wife, Elizabeth of Lebanon, grandchildren, Joshua and Dustin Lachance, Alyssa and Brittney Dixon, Kody Green, Sawyer, Liam, Myles and Hayden Johnson and great grandchildren, Noah, Alannah, Ashton and Azealia. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 1 to 3PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Burial will be alongside her late husband, William (Sandy) Johnson at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale. Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
