Mary L. Hamilton
Mary L. Hamilton, 91, of Waterboro, passed away after having her pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019.She was born in Waterboro on December 7, 1927 to the late Arthur and Lizzie (Hill) Valcourt. She attended Limington Schools but spent most of her childhood and teen years in Wakefield, NH. Mary returned to Waterboro when she married the love of her life Wendell. They lived in North Waterboro for 6 years before settling in South Waterboro and resided in the same South Waterboro home for 66 years, where she created many memories of family, extended family and was happy to be known as "Gram" to anyone who needed her. She began her working life at a young age, employed at Blackburns Farm in Wakefield. She also worked in various shoe shops and retired in 1993 from Sebago Moc in Westbrook.Being a country music fan, she was a lifetime member of Downeast Country Music Association and the Pine Tree State Country Music Association. She enjoyed following country bands.She especially loved time spent with her family, and shared her joy of playing cards with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and taught them her "card shark" ways of playing to win. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Wendell Hamilton Sr., her daughter Linda Eugley who passed in 1975, and her brother Harley Sanborn.Survivors include her three sons, Wendell Hamilton Jr. and his wife Brenda of Waterboro, Arthur Hamilton and his significant other, Donna Buonomo of Lebanon and Larry Hamilton and his significant other Debbie Cone of Amity, 10 grandchildren, Sharon, Tammie, Amanda, Jim, Evelyn, Charity, Tina, Ken, Marcia, Jeremy, their spouses and significant others, numerous great grand children and a great great grandchild is expected in the spring.A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
