SOUTH PORTLAND Mary B. Costigan, 82, of South Portland, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Maine Medical Center. Born in Portland on May 24, 1933, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Cahill) Nee. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1951. Mary married Ronald Costigan on June 6, 1959. Mary was very proud of her Irish Catholic Heritage and enjoyed Irish Music and Irish tea. She was incredibly generous, unselfish and full of gratitude. Mary was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. Above all else, Marys life revolved around faith, family and friends. The time she most enjoyed was that spent with her family, and she adored each of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Daniel Nee, Edward Nee; sister, Mona Nee. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronald Costigan;daughters, Mary Foster and husband John of South Portland, Kathleen Findlay and husband Shawn of South Portland; son, Danny Costigan and wife Kris of South Portland; brother, Thomas Nee and wife Kay of Portland. In addition, she is survived by her 13 grandchildren with whom she had a very special relationship with each: Jake, Moira, Daniel, Annie, Luke and Patrick Foster, Katie Paladino and husband Andrew, Matt Findlay and wife Samantha, Coleman Findlay, Molly Nelson and husband Eric, Nick, Sean and Colleen Costigan; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Teddy Paladino, very close cousin Patsy Roberts along with several close in laws and extended family members. She was also the favorite aunt of several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Maureen Folan for the wonderful and compassionate care she provided to Mary. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday from 3-7PM at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:15AM followed by an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Rd., South Portland.
