SCARBOROUGH - Mary Jane Connolly, 68, died Sunday May 19, 2013, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born December 23, 1944 in Portland a daughter of Desmond and Mary Ann (Cote) Brown. Mary Jane grew up in South Portland and was a 1963 graduate of South Portland High School. She became a licensed real estate broker worked alongside her husband Joe. She enjoyed playing tennis, camping, gardening, and traveling all over the US and Europe. Mary Jane was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kobe Church and Eucharistic Minister. In addition to her parents Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Joseph F. Connolly; sister, Catherine D'Amico; and brother, David Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela M. Banks and her husband Robert of Portland, and Susan L. Connolly of Old Orchard Beach; sisters Joan Lawler and her husband Patrick of Raymond, Elizabeth Blazier of Bryant Pond, and Ruth Ann Smith of Scarborough; brothers, Murray Brown of Masa, AZ, and Clifford Brown; grandchildren, David, Chrystal, Joseph, and Jessica Alexander; and great grandchildren, Alexis, Camron, and Katherine. Visiting hours will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 21, at Conroy - Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at 10:15am on Wednesday at the chapel, followed by a 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point., Scarborough. Private interment will be held at New Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. Those desiring may make contributions in Mary Jane's memory to: Project G.R.A.C.E.
