Marjorie E. Riessle

Marjorie E. Riessle passed away on Sunday, November 29 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford.She was born in Newton, Massachusetts on September 24, 1928, the daughter of Earl Steven Atwood and Elizabeth Tygart Atwood and raised in Bedford, where she attended local schools and graduated from Lexington High School in 1946. She was married to Roland Robert Riessle, Jr. for more than 50 years. She was employed by the MITRE Corp. of Belfast and retired from there, in 1985. Marjorie was a member of the First Church of Christ, Past Matron of Paul Revere Chapter #155 of Eastern Star, and Past President of Anthony Hunt-Hamilton American Legion post #221 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Bedford.In 1985, she and her husband retired to Shapleigh, and she became involved in local organizations. She was a member of Ruth Chapter #15 of Eastern Star, Springvale, and a member of the Trafton Center of Sanford. She enjoyed counter-cross stitching projects, playing cards and traveling. She is predeceased by her husband Roland Riessle and her son Richard Riessle.Survivors include her daughter Nancy Elizabeth Landry of Sanford, her son James Frederick Riessle of Marlboro, MA, one brother Richard Tygart Atwood of Melbourne, FL, seven grandchildren, 16 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.There will be no services for her at this time.To leave a message of condolence click tab at left.
