Marion Gail Masse, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully at Huntington Commons in Kennebunk, Maine on December 3rd at the age of 86. Born on January 12, 1938, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Marion's life was one filled with love and dedication. Marion's journey through life took her to various places, but it was alongside her cherished husband, Donald Masse, that she found her greatest joy and stability. Together, they shared a partnership, moving through life’s adventures before eventually settling in Sanford, Maine in 1970. Marion had a lifelong love of music that was nourished by her father and which she shared with her children. She enjoyed playing the ukulele and organ and joyfully attended music performances until her passing. A talented seamstress, Marion's hands crafted not only beautiful garments but also a warm and loving home for her family. In addition to her work as a seamstress, Marion co-owned music, video and variety stores with Donald. Their business endeavors were a testament to their teamwork and mutual respect and the stores became community hubs, reflecting Marion's welcoming spirit. Marion's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and love. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, and her ability to find beauty in the simple things. Marion is pre-deceased by her husband Donald and survived by her children Michael Masse and wife Rebecca, Laurie Woodward and husband Dave, James Masse and wife Renee and six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory. Marion's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Your love and kindness are deeply appreciated.

  2. My Mom was musically gifted. She loved to play her organ and keyboard. She also loved to sing and harmonize with her father. Her father made a record of them singing together.💕

  3. My Mom did not judge others as unworthy. If you were The President you were important and if you were a janitor you were important.

  4. My Mom valued her children and her grandchildren the most. Her
home was filled with family photos; especially photos of her grandchildren.

  5. My Mom was really good at bowling and she has a trophy to prove it!! She was a great seamstress, singer and organ player.

  6. My mom was a nature lover. She would send photos of animals she saw in her back yard. Once she mailed us a photo of a woodpecker. Honestly, we could only see trees in the photo. It became a joke between her and my family. My husband and I bought a wooden sign of a 4 x 2 wood pecker. We attached it to a tree and when she came over I said “Mom look at the beautiful woodpecker outside”. When she looked out the window we all burst out laughing!
