Marion Ramsdell Gregoire

Marion Ramsdell Gregoire, 79, of Waterboro, died January 31 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a long illness.She was born in Shapleigh on August 3, 1928, a daughter of Chester L. and Effie (Hill) Pierce, and attended school in Waterboro.A leather worker, she was employed over the years with Allied Kidd in Waterboro and the Saco Tanning Company in Saco.Marion was an absolute Red Sox fan. She enjoyed the Patriots and NASCAR, but really only if there was no baseball on. She enjoyed playing Beano and her weekly scratch tickets. She was known around town for her little dachshunds. At the time of her death, she was making plans to welcome her newest little dachshund puppy into her home.Marion was predeceased by her two husbands, Malcolm V. Ramsdell in 1983 and Robert L. Gregoire in 1989, by 5 brothers and by 2 sisters.Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Contois and her husband Tom with whom she resided in Waterboro, 4 sons, Vernon Ramsdell of Alfred, Jeffery Ramsdell and his wife Doreen of Springvale, Mathew Ramsdell and his wife Joyce of Waterboro, Mark Ramsdell and his wife Gerry of Mexico, 3 brothers, Ray Pierce of Kennebunk, Richard Pierce of So. Berwick, Roy Pierce of Greenville, 7 sisters, Audrey Guillemette of California, Rita Daney of Alfred, Janet Morin and Ruby Young, both of Sanford, Arvena Fogg of Auburn, Janice Smith of Georgia, Margaret Pepin of Portland, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 PM. Burial will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, So.
