Margaret Louise Hatch

Margaret “Maggie” Louise (Vachon) Hatch, 79, of Lebanon, died August 27 at Summer Commons in Sanford, ME after a courageous battle with brain and lung cancer. She was born in Sanford on October 5, 1943, the daughter of Zoel and Jennie (Carlson) Vachon and attended Saint Ignatius Catholic School in Sanford. She spent most of her employment years at Augat and Tom’s of Maine. Anyone who knew Maggie knew her to be a hard worker and she was especially proud to be selected employee of the year while working at Augat. Maggie is remembered as a kind, funny, loveable and friendly woman. She loved her family with all her heart and always made a point to say it. Her small circle of friends meant the world to her. There is no doubt that she will be missed by them and many others. Maggie is pre-deceased by her husband of 42 years, Charles “Charlie” Hatch, Jr., and son Timothy Turner. She is survived by daughters Tammy Dion of Gilmanton, NH, Shirley (Turner) Brunow of Sanford, April (Hatch) Van Houten and husband Bill of Lebanon, and son Scott Hatch and wife Brandi of Buxton. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A brief graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, ME followed by a casual gathering at April and Bill Van Houten’s home. Those attending the graveside service are invited to share their favorite story about Maggie or how she touched their life.
