SANFORD–Margaret Ethel Schwally ( October 11, 1939-August 18 2025 ) made her journey home to be with our Savior Jesus Christ in the early hours of August 18, while holding the hand of her loving daughter ,caretaker, and best friend Cynthia.
Margaret was born in Queens, New York to Margaret Ethel and Christopher Abrams, a tugboat captain. She often told stories from her childhood of her Dad pulling giant ships through New York Harbor. Her Mother was a strong and loving person, whom Margaret loved very much.
She moved to the beautiful state of Maine with her one true love, Jerry, in 1972, where they stayed and raised their three children Christopher, Cynthia, and Erica. Margaret was strong, sacrificial, sharp-minded and relentlessly witty until her final hours.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mae and Dolores; husband Jerry; and her son Christopher. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Carlock) and Erica (Womble); 8 grandchildren Steven, Hannah (Jeff), Jacob, Maggie, Luke (Phoebe), Grace (Ethan), Caileigh, and Leighton: and 4 great-grandchildren Laila, Leah, Theodore, and Winston.
Family and friends will be celebrating her life on August 26, 2025, at Black- Heald Walker Funeral home 580 Main St. in Springvale ME at 11:00 AM.
