Margaret A. Dougher

Portland - Margaret A. Dougher, 86, formerly of 75 State Street, died on October 17, 2017, at St. Joseph's Manor. Margaret was born in Portland on September 3, 1931, the daughter of the late John L. and Anna K. (Feeney) Dougher. She grew up in Portland, attending Cathedral Grammar School as well as graduating from Cathedral High School, Class of 1950. After high school Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for Nelson and Small Insurance company for 12 years, and then for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company for 11 years. She retired in 1980. Margaret was a devoted Catholic and a lifelong communicant of St. Pius X Church. She was predeceased by her sister, Anne Bersani; her brother, Rev. John L. Dougher. She is survived by Patricia Buck, SC; dear friend, Pauline Kane, Sanford; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and friends. Visiting hours and a celebration of Margaret's life will be held from 6:00-7:00PM on Friday, October 20th at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, October 21st, followed by a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave, Portland.
