Marcel A. "Pep" Pepin, 83, of Sanford, died October 17, 2010 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a brief illness. He was born in Sanford on March 5, 1927 the son of Alphonse and Clara (Roy) Pepin and attended Holy Family School.Pep was an entrepreneur. Over the years he owned and operated Pep's Pool Hall, Pepin Oil Co. and Burner Service and Pepin's Hardware Store on High Street. He retired in 1985.He was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church, a member of the Lafayette Social Club and former member of the Sanford Knights of Columbus.Pep was a talented woodworker, crafting beautiful furniture and clocks. He had a sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell, and he was an accomplished figure skater. Family members recalled that there was never a problem presented to him that he could not solve.Survivors include two daughters, Marguerite McGill and her husband Steven of Herndon, VA, Monique DesRoberts and her husband Ronald of Sanford, three sons, Raymond Pepin and his wife Lynn, Richard Pepin and his wife Florita, all of Sanford, Ron Pepin and his wife Susan of Alfred, one sister, Connie Pepin of Sanford with whom he made his home, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the St. Ignatius Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue, Sanford, ME 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. The family would like to thank the Special Care Unit at H. D.
