October 19, 2016

Marcel was born on March 30, 1917 in Newburyport, MA where he lived most of his life as a devoted husband and father. Marcel served in the US ARMY. He fought in WWII, landed on Omaha beach and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Well known for his camping and traveling, Marcel toured much of the United States and Canada with his travel trailers, one of them even made by his own hands. Camping allowed Marcel to make many friends far and wide that shared the same love for travel and camping with him. Also known by many for his building, tinkering, and being self-sufficient to provide for family and many others. Marcel loved to play billiards and loved a challenge if offered to play. A loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan, he rarely missed a game on TV and offered to "speak to them in French" if the game was not going well. Marcel had a great sense of humor and was a favorite with everyone including grandkids of 2 generations. Not only was Marcel dedicated to his family but he was dedicated to the Catholic Church his entire life. Taking care of others, helping his neighbors and leaving a lasting memory of himself with everyone he met. He passed his beliefs into everyday life, setting the example for all to follow.
