Majella E. Cyr, 69, of Sanford, died in Sanford on February 6, 2012.Majella was born in Sanford on May 21, 1942 to Joseph and Pauline (Charette) Ferland and attended local schools. In 1964 she married Normand W. Cyr and together they raised four children. She was employed for a time at Sprague Electric and the Greenwood Center.Majella was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. She was very active in the church, serving as a Eucharistic minister on Sunday and also bringing the Eucharist to fellow communicants in nursing homes and hospitals. Majella had also worked as a volunteer for Beacon Hospice. She was a devoted wife, mother and memere and always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.Majella was predeceased by three siblings, Frances Greene, Lucien Ferland, and Lillian Charette.Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Normand Cyr of Sanford; four children, Jeffrey N. Cyr and his wife Sherri of Sanford, Gregory Cyr and his wife Jennifer of Sanford, Jessica DeNuzzio and her husband Alan of South Berwick and Katherine Cyr of Portland; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Cyr, Alex Cyr, Emma Cyr, Julie Cyr, Rachel Cyr, Avila Cyr and Pierce DeNuzzio and four siblings, Rene Ferland and his wife Jackie of Dover, New Hampshire, Rita Nichols and her husband Ken of Sanford, Raymond Ferland and his wife Pauline of Dayton and Maurice Ferland and his wife Irene of Alfred.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 9th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
