PORTLAND M. Natalie Coyne, 93, of Portland, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Sedgewood Commons, Falmouth. Born in Bangor, Natalie was the daughter of the late John and Marion (OLeary) Coyne. She was a graduate of John Bapst High School in Bangor. Following high school, Natalie graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, Class of 1944. She worked for the New England Telephone Company in Bangor from 1948 until she transferred to Portland in October of 1963. After 30 years of service, she retired on October 1, 1981. She was the Manager of the Business Service Center. After retirement, Natalie volunteered in AARPs Tax Aide Program for the low income and elderly. Natalie was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers and was active in many of their volunteer programs. In addition to her parents, Natalie was predeceased by her brother, John M. Coyne, Jr. She is survived by extended family members and several friends. A period of Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 8:15AM-9:15AM at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home immediately following the Visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM at St. Josephs Church, 673 Stevens Ave., Portland. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bangor.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear of Nat’s passing. I was Nat’s secretary at New England Telephone and she was one of my favorite bosses. She was a smart woman who ran a tight ship, but she was also very compassionate and fair to her employees. I will miss her.
