Lyman R. Parks, a longtime resident of Alfred, died December 24 at the Coastal Manor in Yarmouth after a lengthy illness.He was born in Waltham, MA on November 4, 1920, the son of Lyman R. and Florence (Reynolds) Parks.He was an army veteran of World War II and was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack.For many years he worked as a janitor at Massabesic High School, taking great pride in his work.Friends recalled his desire to be helpful to others and that he was quite an accomplished gardener who enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors include his wife, Anna (Marino) Parks of Yarmouth, 2 sisters, Grace Sliger of North Billerica, MA, Rose Verge of Sharon, MA and a close friend, Ruth Hupe of No. Berwick.A graveside service will be held on Friday December 29 at 12:15 PM in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
