Lucille D. Nolan, 84, of Sanford, died at her home on Saturday, January 17, 2015.Lucille was born on May 23, 1930 to Hildebert and Laura (Camire) Desrochers in Sanford, where she grew up and attended St. Ignatius Schools. During her working life she was employed at the Goodall Textile Mills, Pioneer Plastics and Sprague Electric, where worked until she married Louis Nolan in 1979. After getting married, the couple relocated to Huntington Beach, California where she was employed by Del Mar Avionics. They lived in California for several years before returning to Sanford in 1984, when Louis retired.Lucille loved the beach and traveling with her husband. One of her favorite vacations was a trip to Hawaii that she took with her three sisters. She was a devout Catholic and had been a member of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. She was a very generous woman and volunteered her time at Greenwood Center with her sister Jeanne, and also helped organize the Beano games at St. Ignatius Parish. Lucille enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and attending family get-togethers. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted sister, aunt and friend, and will be dearly missed. Lucille will be especially missed by her sister Irene, whom she spent much of her time with. Lucille was predeceased by her parents, her husband Louis Nolan, and three siblings; Anita Guertin, Jeanne Flayhan and Lionel Desrochers.Surviving are three siblings, Robert Desrochers and his wife Nancy of Alfred, Irene Desrochers, Armand Desrochers and his wife Patricia; also surviving are her sister-in-law Claudette Desrochers, and brother-in-law Al Flayhan, all of Sanford, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 23rd at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 24th at St Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
