Lucille B. Croteau

Lucille B. Croteau, affectionately known as Lucy died Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 82 in Manchester, NH.Lucy was born on January 26, 1925 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of the late Odilion and Angelina Laitres Croteau. Lucy was a well educated woman. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1943, and she then attended the Notre Dame School of Nursing, from which she graduated in 1946. Following that she attended St. Anselm College where she graduated from in 1958. Later Lucy attended Boston College where she graduated with her masters' degree in 1961. After a short time working in the nursing field Lucy returned to St. Anselm College and began her career as a College Professor; where she taught many inspiring students the art of nursing.Her hard work and dedication was not easily matched by others. For over 25 years she helped mold the minds of her students at St. Anselm's by not only teaching them the practical necessities of nursing, but also the intangibles that make great caregivers.Lucy is survived by two brothers, Ernest Croteau of Manchester, NH, and Rene Croteau of Escondido, CA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, professional peers and friends.A period of visitation for Lucy will be held this Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, ME. A 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at St. Therse Parish, St. Ignatius Church of Sanford. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Lucy's name to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077.
