Lucienne E. Gregoire of Sanford, passed away peacefully at Pinnacle Health and Rehab on Monday March 20, 2023 at the age of 100.
She was born in St. Isidore d’ Auckland, Quebec, May 19, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Bernier) Roy. She and her family moved to Sanford when she was an infant. She grew up in Sanford and attended St. Ignatius School. Later she went on to work at Jagger Brothers in Springvale Maine retiring after 30 years of employment in 1986. She married Charles Gregoire June 23, 1945 sharing 63 years of marriage before his death in 2008.
They were fortunate to enjoy many years of traveling to places such as Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. Along with her husband, they volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Lucienne was an active member of the Trafton Senior Center where she spent many hours playing cards and bingo. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2008 and her siblings, Lucien, Roland, Florien, Fernand, Jeanne Roux, Ralph, Doris Meunier, and Rene.
She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Lafrinea and her husband Brenton of Poland Spring, Priscilla Iappini and her husband Paul of Wareham, MA, Jeannette Lamontagne and her husband Paul, Patti Langlois and her husband Paul and Joanne Langlais and her husband Kevin, all of Sanford; 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Wilfrid Roy, of Scarborough, Rita Savoie and her husband Roger of Sanford, Claire Blier and her husband Carroll of Springvale, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church on Friday, March 24 at 11:00 am. Spring burial will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
Lucienne’s family would like to thank the staff at Pinnacle Rehabilitation as well as Wentworth Hospice for the exceptional care and support shown to her and her family.
