Lucien Lapierre
Lucien Lapierre, 90 years old, of Sanford, ME died Friday evening, September 8, 2006 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mr. Lapierre was born on July 12, 1916 in Sanford. He was the son of the late Henri and Rosilda (Dupuis) Lapierre. He attended Holy Family School in Sanford, and proudly served his country during WWII in the Navy.Following his service to his country Mr. Lapierre worked for over 35 years at the Universal Shoe Company. He would later retired from Brooks Woolen.Mr. Lapierre was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Sanford. He enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.Predeceasing him was his wife Marie (Laitress) Lapierre in August of 2001.Surviving are two daughters, Constance Mathieu and her husband Ronald of Sanford, Priscilla Martin and her husband Dennis of Port St. Lucie, FL; two sons, Ronald Lapierre of Rochester, NH, and Robert Lapierre of Sanford. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.A period of visitation for Mr. Lapierre will be held this Monday, September 11, 2006 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert and Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Sanford on Tuesday September 12th.For those that desire memorial contributions may be made to the Newton Center Activities Fund, 20 July St. Sanford, ME 04073.
