Louise H. McAdam, 84 years old, of Limerick, ME died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at her home.Louise was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 7, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Ernst & Joyce Van Buskirk Heeren. She was educated at the Berkeley Institute, and was a graduate of Mills School, which was a division of Adelphi College.Louise spent part of her life in East Hempstead, NY and Plainfield, NJ before moving to Limerick, ME.As an elementary school teacher, Louise worked at Linder Place School of Malverne, NY for 6 years, the fifth grade of Hollis Elementary School for 1.5 years, and the Limerick Elementary School as a first grade teacher for 22 years.Louise kept herself very active. She was the first president of the Massabesic Teacher's Association, Past President of the Historical Society of Limerick, Past President and Treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, and an active member of the Limerick Congregational Church U.C.C., where she served as Moderator, President of the Research Club, member of the Deaconate, Pastoral relations Committee, and choir member and director for many years.She also enjoyed baking goodies, and making candy that she sold at Cliff McAdam Creations and provided for church functions.Louise is predeceased by her husband Clifford McAdam, a grandson Eric McAdam Ceklarz, and a brother Ernest Heeren.Surviving are her daughters Nancy Prue and her husband Jim of Dover, NH, Peggy McAdam of North Waterboro; grandchildren, Cory Plaisted and his wife Michelle of Ellsworth, ME, Kip Plaisted and John Crowe of Bangor, ME, and Acacia McAdam of North Waterboro, ME. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Briana, Aaron, and Amber; a sister Esther Luginbuhl and her husband Donald of both Largo, FL & Banner Elk, NC, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation for Louise will be held this Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday the 2nd at the Limerick Congregational Church U.C.C. in Limerick, ME.For those that desire the McAdam family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital Memorial & Honor program, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105-1905, Beacon Hospice, 54 Atlantic Pl., S.
