Louis A. Rivard

Louis A. Rivard, 91, of Sanford, passed away on Monday August 24, 2020 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Springvale on July 16, 1929 a son of the late Henry and Laura (Couturier) Rivard. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. His entire working career spanned 50 plus years as a manager with Lavalley Lumber. When he retired along with his wife, Simone they wintered in Port Charlotte, Floriday. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and going for bike rides.He is predeceased by one daughter, Nancy Laroche, one son, Mark Rivard.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Simone Lavalley Rivard, sons, Michael Rivard and his wife, Anne, John Rivard and his wife, Michelle, daughter, Marilyn St. Jean, grandchildren, Jason and Matthew St. Jean, Stuart Rivard, Benjamin Rivard, Jessica Pouliot, Kevin and Kimberly Laroche, Brandon Rivard, Kristen Rivard, great grandchildren, Austin and Emma St. Jean, Alexander St. Jean, Annabelle St. Jean, Avery St. Jean. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Gerard Rivard, Theresa Ouellette, Marguerite Lachance, Mary-Ann Theriault, Mary-Jane Brochu, Ronald Rivard.A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 18th at 1PM at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House or to Hospice of Southern Maine.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
