Lorraine Creteau

Lorraine Creteau, 84, of Sanford, died December 26 at the home of her son in Shapleigh after a brief illness.She was born in Sanford on December 29, 1925, the youngest of 4 children born to Wilfred and Eliza (Lessard) Lebreux and attended Sanford schools.A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed traveling. She and her husband Roland took trips to Florida, to the western US, to Hawaii, and to Hong Kong. They also enjoyed square dancing. Roland died in 1988.Lorraine was very social and in more recent years she enjoyed dining out with friends and playing cards.She was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.Survivors include her son, Russell Creteau and his wife Susan of Shapleigh, four grandchildren Gabriel Creteau, Catherine Creteau, Michael Creteau and Kathleen Creteau. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.A graveside service will be held in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
