On April 28, 2018 Lloyd "Pup" Parker, at the age of 88 passed away peacefully, while residing in the care of the kind and loving community at the The Newton Center in Sanford Maine. He was born March 16, 1930 in Norfolk, VA and was the only child of Cornelius "Gramps" Percy Parker & Elizabeth Lola Parker (Schaefer). Much of his young life was spent in Patchogue on Long Island New York where he graduated from Patchogue High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1948-1952. During this time Lloyd married the love of his life Helen Margaret Schauer March 18, 1950. Together they raised 2 children and shared 58 years of marriage.Following his time in the Army he relocated his family to Sanbornville, NH where he and his dad opened the family business Lakeside Service and Marine. For many years Lloyd and his family provided the townspeople of Sanbornville with full service gas pumps, automotive & marine service on the corner of 109 and Witchtrot Rd. Lloyd then became a sales representative for the Marran Family of Long Island, NY and traveled throughout New England selling the System 2000 heating system. Following these successful business endeavors Lloyd helped to establish Parker's Boathouse in Shapleigh Maine where he worked for many years. His knowledge and business success has helped so many over the years.Lloyd enjoyed traveling, throughout the US and abroad. He loved his trips with Helen and family near and far; Germany, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Hawaii, Alaska. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play hockey as their #2 fan as his wife Helen was their #1 fan. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter play field hockey & lacrosse and lunches out with the girls. Some of Lloyd's favorite pastimes were tinkering with remote control airplanes, reading the newspaper, playing cards, boating, dining out, a good western movie, a great hockey game or a good nap on the couch.Lloyd will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen in 2009, 26 days short of 59 years of marriage, a fact Lloyd was very proud of and saddened by at the same time.Survivors include his son Mark A Parker & Jill of Shapleigh, ME, daughter Patricia L. Meyer & husband Frederick Meyer III of Sanbornville, NH, grandaughters Jennifer Parker of Springvale, ME & Bonnie Parker of Dover NH, grandsons Trevor Meyer & wife Misty of Greenland NH, and Freddy Meyer IV, and wife Lindsay of Winchester, MA., and 5 great grandchildren Cole, Carter, Freddy V, Paisley & Callen. A graveside Memorial service will be held at the Lovell Lake Cemetery, on Lovell Lake Rd. Sanbornville, NH. on Tuesday May 8th at 1 pm, followed by a gathering at 1 Witchtrot Rd. Sanbornville, NH.
