Memories Timeline

Guestbook

    • Woody was a professional photographer, having done many, many weddings over the years. He really enjoyed that work, along with his nursing. He also did many photos for numerous theaters in the area. I will miss going to Ogunquit, Portland Players, and Brunswick…..he introduced me to the world of theater, and we spent many, many hours at them. Joanna, a delightful friend, and my Mom and Woody and I, used to go to most of the theaters in the areas…….Now, with those 3 gone….I have the memories.

  1. Rest in Peace Uncle…I love you and will carry you in my heart always. The memories I have will always be a treasure. Love you!!!

  2. I am so sad to hear this. I worked at MMC with Woody for many years. He was such a sweet guy. He had his photography business on the side. He did my wedding photos back then. RIP Woody. My condolences to all his family. ❤️

  3. I have known Woody for ever! I am so sad to see this! I would run in to him at the funniest time. He came and did family pictures over the years . The last time was for my dad’s 70th birthday. Woody thought that it was my mom’s birthday. What a mix up! Pictures still came out perfect. He also was a wonderful nurse. The world loss a wonderful person.

  4. As a fellow member of the Greely class of ‘71, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to family and friends…you are in my thoughts and prayers! 🙏

  5. My deepest sympathies to Leland’s family and friends. We were school pals and sadly lost touch after graduation but I have fond memories of our friendship.

  6. I am so very sorry to hear this. I remember Woody from Greely; he was always running around school taking photographs for the yearbook. I also had the privilege of working with him at Maine Medical. He was a very kind man, and a pleasure to work with. This is truly a loss. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

  7. I’m so sorry to hear this. I worked with Woody at Maine Medical, I’ve known him for many years. Woody was a kind man, a good friend, and an amazing photographer and woodworker. He assisted me with several projects that were over my head, but with his calm demeanor and helpful advice, he got me thru it every time. My sincere condolences go out to the Leland family and Friends.

  8. Woody was 1 of a kind! Worked with him for years at MMC – playing with the computer system. He was a friend, an awesome photographer and a joy to work with! Miss you

  9. Worked for many years with Woody..from his time in the MMC ED to later in IT. He cared about the work we did so much and also was passionate with his adventures outside of work (Photography, working the voting polls and even a bit of Crossfit). Even though we had not connected in several years, I am sad to learn of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and friends the world lost a light for sure.

  10. Oh my he will be greatly missed by so many! Worked with him for many many years at MMC. He was my partner in crime dealing with duplicates. A great photographer who blessed me with some great family photos.
    Rest in peace my friend

  11. I am so sorry to hear of Woody’s passing. He was always positive and upbeat and enjoyed helping others. I learned so much about photography from Woody and his show photos were standouts. The Lyric Music Theater family has lost a dear member. Condolences to Kristi and the Leland family.
    Thinking of you all.

  12. I am profoundly sad to hear of Woody’s passing. We photographed many a wedding together. He kept me smiling the whole time…..sometimes too much so! It was so much fun to giggle with him when you weren’t supposed to be giggling. Woody had mastered the talent!
He was one of the few men I know that would speak from the heart on so many subjects, whether it be his belief of God or his deep love for his wife and boys. We never talked politics, which I loved! The world lost a good one on December 12th. RIP Woody

  13. I am so sad to hear of Woody’s passing. We worked together at MaineHealth IT until he retired. I liked to visit with him when I was delivering supplies. He always talked about his photography business and he was an election worker also. I liked talking with him. RIP Woody

  14. Woody knew my mother from his days at MMC. When I was younger he would take pictures of my siblings and I for Christmas card photos. After the pictures were taken he would then take us all out for lunch at McDonald’s. It would always be one of my favorite days of the year. Years later he photographed my wedding and it felt like everything came full circle. He was a great man gone far too soon. My condolences to Kristi and the boys. May you rest in peace, Woody.

  15. I am saddened to hear of the passing of Woody. I met Woody and Kris as a young girl living across the street. I watched his first 2 boys a lot and always enjoyed our talks and laughs. He helped me through the unexpected loss of our young neighbor and I will never forget his kind gentleness. He was a great photographer and took my high school and wedding photos. I ran into him some years ago at MMC and always loved his contagious smile and bear hugs. Rest well my friend and my hope is to see you again in eternity. Thank you❤️

  16. I am so sad to learn of Woody’s passing. He was a gentle soul and a great person to work with (I also worked with him at MMC/MaineHealth in the IT field). He was truly the “finest kind” of person that there was. I remember him talking about his efforts to become Crossfit Woody! May you rest in Peace.

  17. Woody will be missed. I worked with Woody for many years at Maine Medical Center. I will always remember those Friday work luncheons at J’s Oyster Bar. Or him walking around with his Bose noise cancelling headphones on. I see him in the corridor or on the street between the hospital and Gateway office and I say, “Hey can you hear me Woody?” and he always respond one of two phases; “Yes, unfortunately” with smile on his face or “Howdy, partner what happening today”. His way of let me know how his day was going. I will miss Woody.

  18. So sorry to have learned of Woody’s passing today. Like a number of others who have signed the book, we worked together for years at MMC/ MaineHealth. He was a good soul who cared about taking care of customers. My sincere condolences to his family.
