Resided in: Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Cape Elizabeth - Linda Twomey, 70, of Cape Elizabeth passed away on July 17, 2022 after a long, courageous fight against cancer. She is survived by her husband, Tim, and her sisters Patricia Weiss and Joann Boisvert as well as a large extended family. She is predeceased by her brother Richard. Linda was born in Biddeford on Jan 29, 1952 to Doris and Louis Busse. She attended Biddeford public schools before receiving an A.S. degree in Electronics Technology from SMCC. She later attended USM and Maine Maritime Academy where she received an A.S. in Electrical Marine Design. Linda’s career spanned working as a service representative for IBM, as an Electronic Technician for Fairchild Semiconductor, and finally as an Electrical Designer for Bath Iron Works. She always enjoyed her work and was able to travel widely while working for BIW. Linda’s most important interests were her family and friends, her pets and her home. Linda was never without at least one dog and one cat. She regularly walked the neighborhood with her dog and cat and visited with the neighbors. She loved her extended family and spent much time with them. Linda always enjoyed working on her gardens and was always willing to take on home repair or improvement projects. Linda also loved boating and traveled the New England coast with her husband Tim (and the cat and dog). Shortly after Linda retired, her mother fell ill and was confined to home. Linda and her sisters took on the task of providing care for their mother for the next several years. Thanks to their kindness and love, their mother was able to live out the rest of her life at home. Unfortunately, as her mother’s life was coming to an end, Linda was diagnosed with cancer and spent two years bravely fighting to recover. Linda met lots of wonderful people during her struggle with cancer. Her family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who worked with her and helped her during that time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society. A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Old Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of South Portland.
