Windham - Linda Geary Bailey, 54, passed away on October 6, 2023 at the Gosnell Hospice House surrounded by family.
Linda was born on November 6, 1968, in Portland, the daughter of Arthur Geary and Margaret Peterson. She grew up in Portland where she attended local schools and later received her GED.
Linda could be described as a woman who had a hard exterior, feisty, passionate, loving beyond measure, and fiercely protective. She enjoyed listening to 80's rock and found pride in the years she spent working as a crossing guard. Linda was a mother figure to many long before she became a mom, she helped raise children that were not her own and loved them as if they were. However, nothing in this world brought Linda as much joy as her two daughters Shannon and Jolene.
Linda was predeceased by her father, grandparents, and many dogs whom she treated like family including RubyStarr and Jessalynn. She is survived by her daughters, Shannon and Jolene Bailey of Windham; mother, Margaret Peterson of Windham; special niece whom she treated as a daughter, Caitlin Geary of Windham; 2 sisters, Kelly Geary-MacDonald and husband Rick of Windham; Jennifer Berry and husband Brian of Bridgton; brother, William Brink of Falmouth; nieces; Colleen Gray and Kendra Gray, Kaleigh Maley, Kristi Brink; close friends whom might as well have been family, her “other mother”, Jaqueline Huff, Roxanne Huff (Linda considered Roxanne her “first born”); many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins; and her beloved dog Kaito.
Celebration of Life will be held October 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Little Meeting House 719 Roosevelt Trail Windham, ME 04062.
